Pyramid Lake Fishing Report of 12/11/14
The fishing at Pyramid has slowed down quite a bit for numbers of fish, however it is still producing a few BIG fish. This week we released some outstanding fish with 4 over 12 lbs. With the winter storms coming in, the numbers should pick up. Check the "BLOG" page for a picture of a nice fish released on Tuesday.
The best fly by far this week has been the "Original Popcorn Beetle". Check the "Flies" page for the true history of this pattern. It has stuck more trophy cutthroat at Pyramid than any other fly I know.
Tips :
* Always bring a dry change of clothes
* Bring a shovel in case you get stuck in the soft sand.
* Try to stay on the main dirt roads.
* Check wind conditions before launching any vessel.
Wind direction and speed is essential when fishing Pyramid Lake. For more info on wind conditions go to www.pyramidlakeguideservice.com - click on the "weather button".
Good luck, Have fun!

Pyramid Lake Fishing Report October 7, 2014
The opening week at Pyramid was absolutely awesome! Several anglers reported having exceptional angling. Just about every accessesable beach produced. The key to having a big day is to fish in 20 to 30 ft. of water. A float tube, pontoon boat, or a boat is essential. A Tui Chub pattern has been the #1 fly by far. Get the fly down and retrieve it up- be ready! There is a great Tui Chub pattern by Mark Tilton in Terry Barron's book "No Nonsense Guide To Fishing Pyramid Lake". I highly recommend you get a copy of this book. When we fish Pyramid we recommend using 12 or 15 lb. SEAGUAR Fluorocarbon. Pyramid has BIG fish.
Remember, with over 40 years of "real time" fly fishing at Pyramid Lake, the guides at "Pyramid Lake Guide Service" have more experience at Pyramid than ANY other guide service. Our guides fish on their days off and continue to scout for the best possible trip for our clients.
THE NEXT CLINIC IS ON OCTOBER 25, 2014 SEE "CLINICS" at www.pyramidlakeguideservice.com page for more Info
